Item: do I buy those pants to wear as a post-orals celebration? To wear TO orals, in hopes that they will stun my examiners into submission? Possibly, if the US dollar regains its footing against the Euro anytime soon.

And just know that, though you may see precous little of me in the coming month, I will be vicariously spending time with you by obsessively checking up on Kthread in between chapters of _What is Surrealism?_ Tragically, pictures of Veuve Cliquot are at this point the closest I’m allowed to the real thing. Oh tristesse.

Kristen,
You look amazing with empurpled hair. More pictures of Kristen in 2007! And of Ben of course, who — while absent in number from the 21 — is of course the recurrent term, the indivisible zero, inextricable from the web of Kthread, with whom you are metaphysically entangled as if in a Donne poem (whose twoness made one makes none and all, whose firmness makes your circle just, and makes you end where you began, and so on…). Kristen may be absent, at least in (lovely) form, but it’s no coincidence whose smile sparkles most at the centre of that wonderful final New Year’s photo: their “eye-beams twisted, and did thread / Our eyes upon one double string”. Or should that be “Kthread”.
