traditionally swayed

Something about Cambridge in the fall—the colorful leaves, undergraduates attempting to look morose in careful layers of (let’s acknowledge it, plaid) clothing, cadenced conversations rising from patios and bricked walkways—it feels as incredibly American as…apple pie ice cream from Lizzy’s on Church Street.

A bit precious, maybe, but delicious. To follow that, I made a picnic on the grass with my windfall from Formaggio Kitchen: a baguette, a ripe Gariotin, French butter with seaweed, and salami.

Oh, and there was music. And an old couple was swaying. And the light was with us.

A bit precious, maybe, but delicious (for an afternoon hour)…

    Amanda, I’m so glad. There was something about the way the couple looked at each other and smiled, and he put his hand around her shoulder–the way he’s done maybe hundreds of times–and she puts hers around his waist and, well, here’s to you and Jordan in a similar sway, years from now…
